On the morning of April 3, 1999, Don woke up with the old hymn “Beneath the Cross of Jesus” playing in his head. New words came with it. He wrote them down. It was the first time he had heard them, and he knew right away they were from God.

Years of seminary study followed, along with work in Biblical Greek and Hebrew and patient examination of Scripture. This book is what came of it: a coherent biblical theology that takes seriously God’s stated desire that all people be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-4), explores afterlife correction and purification, and shows how God’s sovereignty and our free will can hold together. The Good News may be even better than we thought.
